DON’T BE A FOOL OF NETWORK NEWS

The fact that America is being fed nothing short of entertaining propaganda by the ever-narrowing corporate group controlling major network media channels is not surprising, but the fact America gobbles it up without so much as a whimper underscores the danger that threatens to derail the future of social progress altogether. At best, believing unchallenged the Network News monopoly is for fools.

First, it was Rupert Murdoch that startled the national awareness that when piqued, retorted with obvious denial for anyone “foreign” to have such a large and direct influence on the nation’s primary method of information distribution. Recently, however, it has gone rather uncontested as Comcast has absorbed NBC-Universal, and the dangerous precedent of a clearly profit-minded corporation becoming so entrenched vertically in the media business (news organization to create original content, network structure for distribution, and cable network for delivery) has raised very few eyebrows, signalling a capitulation of conscious control over a vital industry upon which a population depends.
